Fall Meeting Report 2005 to CEEES

 

 

The 34th Annual Technical Meeting of the GUS took place at Fraunhofer ICT, Pfinztal, March 2-4, 2005. 

23 contributions were presented in four sessions:

 

·       Basics in environmental testing

·       Functional behaviour and reliability of parts and components                                               

·       Weathering and thermal influences

·       Ways to numerical environmental simulation

 

Proceedings in German are available at the GUS secretariat for € 40,-.

 

In conjunction the GUS Annual General Assembly was held on March 3, 2005.

 

The GUS working group »Numerical environmental testing«, has held two meetings, one at the same occasion on March 1-2, 2005 and one in Schwieberdingen at Robert Bosch GmbH on September 12-13, 2005. (Please see also www.gus-ev.de ).

GUS members participated at the 36th International Annual Conference on Energetic Materials of Fraunhofer ICT in Karlsruhe, June 28 –July 1, 2005.

 

GUS-Members presented papers at the ESTECH-2005, Woodfield, Chicago, USA May 1-4.

 

In cooperation with SENSOR & TEST 2005 Exhibition the “Int. CEEES Conference on Methods and Benefits of Environmental Testing & Engineering”, organized by GUS, took place in Nuremberg on May 11-12, 2005. Proceedings and CD-ROM are available at GUS secretariat for € 30,-.

 

On behalf of CEEES GUS organized the 2nd European Weathering Symposium EWS in Gothenburg, Sweden, June 15-17, 2005 with more than 85 participants.

36 papers and posters were presented. GUS was supported by CHALMERS, Gothenburg and by SP, Boras, as local organizers. Proceedings and CD-ROM are available at GUS secretariat for € 45,-.

 

Combined with the 2nd EWS the Training Course “Thermal Radiation and its Interaction with Polymeric Materials were held. CD-ROM is available for € 40,-.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The GUS & CEEES Workshop “Biodegradable Polymers: Where are the Limits?” is scheduled for November 3, 2005 in Brussels at Landesvertretung Baden-Württemberg

Workshop Chairman: Dr. Karl-Friedrich Ziegahn.

Participation Fee: € 170,- for CEEES members.

The invitation and update program was send to the national secretaries in August, 2005.

The 35th Annual Technical Meeting of GUS is envisaged for March 22 to 24, 2006.

The GUS Annual General Assembly will be on March 23, 2006.

GUS Working group »Numerical environmental testing«, will meet at the same occasion on March 21 and   22, 2006 in Pfinztal.
