CEEES Newsletter collects information of general interest for people dealing with Environmental Engineering Sciences and Technologies. Each contribution from the National Member Societies is welcome.

1.General Assembly (Leuven 19 February 2004)

         (the complete report is available at the CEEES website-www.ceees.org)

 

-Summary:

- 23 members,delegates from all but one (AITPA)member associations participated in the General Assembly,

- in the morning,the three Technical Advisory Boards met,the chairmen reported to the G.A.;

- the second draft of the By-laws was examined and a proposal for adding an article dealing with “associated and corresponding members” has to be drafted in time in order to prepare a final version ready for signature next G.A.

-CEEES is actively participating in the CEN Workshop WS 10 “Expert Group on Environmental Engineering” under CEN Workshop “Defence Procurement”.Karl-Friederich Ziegahn(GUS)reported;

-EUREKA program.Mr. Robert Verbruggen,the Belgian National Project Coordinator for EUREKA,and Mr. Hubert Van Belle,responsible for the FACTORY program within EUREKA gave a presentation on the purpose and possibilities of EUREKA.The GA decided to introduce a “Project Form”

-for the coming IEST general meeting,CEEES members will present 3 papers,

-Gunnar Ruding,CEEES treasurer reported on the current financial situation and the G.A. accepted the 2003 balance sheet and the budget 2004.The G.A. agreed to keep the membership fee 2004 at the same amount of 2003.

-resolutions

Resolution 01-41-2004: The General Assembly accept the balance sheet 

                   2003.    

            Resolution 02-41-2004: The General Assembly accept unanimously the

                                         budget 2004 and the membership fee 2004.

-actions

Action 1/41 From now on all meeting minutes to be on CEEES website and sent to the participants and to the national secretariats.

Action 2/41   TAB’s to work out their report as a website presentation.

Action 3/41   The final by-laws to be approved during the next meeting in Stockholm.

Action 4/41   A sentence about categories of observers to be added to the by-laws by Michel Holy.

Action 5/41    Each member will fill in the project form (see annex 21),and introduce this to his national authorities (see list on webpage).

Action 6/41   To set up a group to work on the Eureka project form

Action 7/41   All members to seek contact with potential new members..

Action 8/41  Aad Van Dorp to take the lead for the website link to national members

Action 9/41 Henri Grzeskowiak to ask some low-price engineering teams in France for a website price proposal

Action10/41 Gunnar Ruding to ask a specialist in Sweden for a website price proposal

 

2.Workshop

 

“Combining testing and simulation for better products”

The proceedings of that workshop,organised by BEST/BSMEE in cooperation with AGORIA the 20th of February 2004 will be available in July on CD Rom at a cost of 20€ for members of national societies affiliated to CEEES and 30€ otherwise.

“Fatigue caused by mechanical and corrosive stresses”

  (Stockholm,17 September 2004)

This international conference is organised by CEEES and SEES(Swedish Environmental Engineering Society) and held in connection with the CEEES general assembly in Stockholm the day before.

4.Call for papers:

“Methods and Benefits of Environmental Testing and Engineering”

The purpose of this conference is to promote further international promotion of Environmental Engineering amongst researchers and engineers from different disciplines involved in the design,development and manufacturing of reliable products.
