MIL-STD 810F to become MIL-STD 810G

A new edition of the DoD's "Test Method Standard for Environmental Engineering Considerations and Laboratory Tests" is now under development by a Tri-Service Working Group.

Activities in CEN/WS 10/EG 8

Within CEN BT/WG 125 'Standardization for Defence Procurement' the CEN Workshop 10 'Standardization for Defence Procurement - European Handbook has been set up. A summary of its progress is found at the CEN website. Expert Group No. 8 (EG 8) works specifically with the topic of environmental engineering.

Several specialists from many European countries have been very engaged in this big undertaking within CEN to harmonize environmental engineering and environmental testing standards. This harmonization has become a necessity, especially with regard to civil and military standards.

To a large extent the participants in the Expert Group 8 are representatives from the different national soceties within CEEES.

More documentation will soon be available. A list of standards and abbreviations in Excel format was recently presented by EG 8 as a part of their summary.
